What are the possible ways to reduce aggression and tolerance between 2 male dogs, father and son? Both are phenotypically "intact", i.e. have not been neutered. They behaved very well towards one another until the son (now approaching 4 years old) became 3 and has degenerated over the past year or so. The father is now approaching 14 years old. Father is an F1 cockerpoo, of generally good temperament towards other dogs including males. Son is a further cross with a pedigree English springer spaniel. Both dogs seem somewhat responsible for triggering aggression in the other. The son would exacerbate play fighting by climbing on furniture to gain height advantage and launch himself at the father. Equally, the father would be over-zealous / over-dominant in play fighting. There is clearly some resource guarding going on, with regard to space/ access to humans or their attention. Historically both were fed in the same room, albeit opposite corners (but made to wait until food
