Starting question

Inspired by the Philosophy Now article "A Memetic Analysis of Narratives & Conspiracies" by Ignacio Gonzalez. Why do some narratives spread and survive more successfully than others?

Then Thought · @Ignacio-Gonzalez-Martinez

Narratives absorb the propositional contents of their constitutive talking-point-memes and turn them into an overarching claim suffused with moral undertones. This is by design, since in order to have a chance of thriving in a culture, narratives depend on their capacity to hijack our motivations. To do this, a narrative could hardly do better than to latch on to our propensity to pontificate.
